Hotel Transactions Set to Surge 
Through the first five months of the year, the pace of hotel transactions has been steady and strong, but not spectacular. That could soon be about to change, according to many lodging leaders at the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference.

Deal Market: Equity Players Looking to Buy
All of the panelists—representing real-estate investment trusts—during a session at the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference titled “Mergers and Acquisitions in the Lodging Sector” said their companies will be net buyers during 2012.

Hotel Values Continue Robust Recovery 
The hotel recovery continues for all the major U.S. hotel markets with the average hotel increasing approximately $13,000 per room, or about 20% during 2011. These finding were developed by the HVS/STR Hotel Valuation Index, a valuation benchmark showing trends in U.S. hotel values from 1987 to 2015.
